Zeynep Gunay Bio/Wiki
A Turkish teen girl named Zeynep Gunay died tragically after choking on her own vomit on the “Kamikaze” amusement park ride after workers allegedly refused to stop it.
According to the Daily Mail, the bizarre occurrence occurred Monday afternoon as psychology student Zeynep Gunay went to Istanbul’s Hayrola Luna Park to relax while awaiting exam results.
The 19-year-old is seen waiting for the “Kamikaze” ride to begin in a CCTV photo wearing a gray headscarf and mask.
She was 19 years old.
How Did Zeynep Gunay Die?
On Monday between 2 and 3 p.m., she rode the Kamikaze ride at the fairground, where she passed out and vomited, according to her parents.
They allege they urged operators to halt the trip several times but were ignored, according to MailOnline.
They further claim that after the ride came to a halt and Miss Gunay was taken off unconscious, the operators instructed her to be “slapped two or three times” to wake her up.
Miss Gunay’s family was obliged to call an ambulance themselves, according to her uncle Fatih Gunay, because park operators refused to do so. She was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead, after which she was buried at Beylikduzu, an Istanbul neighborhood.
Mr. Gunay believes that his niece died as a result of negligence and that his family will do “whatever it takes” to obtain justice.
Miss Gunay, who aspired to be a psychologist, died on Monday, but it was revealed on Tuesday that she had received the grades she required to enroll in her dream university program.
It’s unclear whether police are looking into these allegations or whether a formal complaint has been filed with the authorities.
