On June 13, 1939, Siegfried Fischbacher was born to Martin and Maria Fischbacher in Rosenheim.

His mother was a housewife and his father was a talented painter who ended up in the Soviet Union as a prisoner of war during World War II. As a boy, Fischbacher bought a magic book and started to practice illusions. In 1956, he migrated to Italy and began working at a hotel.

He was 81 years old.

In 1957, he joined Horn aboard the cruise ship TS Bremen, where Siegfried was employed as a steward and entertainer. During his nightly magic display, he enlisted Horn, the captain’s bellboy, to help.

The long-time show business partner of Fischbacher, Roy Horn, died in a Las Vegas hospital last year of complications from Covid-19.

He’d been 75. With their incredible magic tricks, the pair amazed millions before one of the act’s prominent white tigers seriously injured Horn in 2003.
