On July 23, 2020, Safiullah Asif was hit by a BMW as he crossed the road near his family’s home in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside, Greater Manchester.
The schoolboy was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, but he died soon after. Two men have been charged with causing his death, according to Greater Manchester Police.
Two men have been charged with the death of an eight-year-old boy who died after being hit by a car as he crossed the road.
He was 8 years old, Kevin Jones is 35 years old and Thomas McGrath is 22 years old.

Kevin Jones, of Wirral, has been charged with causing death by reckless driving, causing death while driving while unlicensed, and causing death while driving without insurance.
Thomas McGrath, a Stockport resident, has also been charged with causing death by reckless driving.
On April 15, both men are expected to appear in Tameside Magistrates Court. Emotional tributes were paid to Safiullah after his death, and neighbors and friends organized a balloon release to honor the eight-year-old.
Riley Finnigan, Rachael Finnigan’s son, was Safiullah’s best friend, said, “Safiullah would always come out of school with a smile on his face.
“My son always told me the things that he had done to make him laugh and smile.
“He was such a bright, happy little boy and he was very popular in school’.
Meanwhile the schoolboy’s uncle Norman Latif said Safiullah’s mother and father, Noreen and Imran, were ‘beyond heartbroken.”
