Robert Aaron Long Bio/Wiki
Robert Aaron Long has been named as a suspect in the shooting deaths of five people at a spa in Cherokee County, Georgia. He was also a suspect in two other shootings in Atlanta, according to authorities.
Eight people were killed in the three attacks. Six of the victims were Asian, and investigators are looking at whether or not the shootings were motivated by racism.
He is 21 years old.
Why He Is Suspicious?
Deputies say he went into a Young’s Asian Massage Parlor on Georgia Highway 92 about 5 p.m. and opened fire, killing four people and wounding five others in Woodstock, an Atlanta suburb. He then allegedly drove to Atlanta and opened fire at two more Asian spas, Gold Spa and Aroma Therapy, killing four more people, according to authorities.
Following a nearly 200-mile police pursuit, he was apprehended in Crisp County. At around 8:30 p.m., deputies identified the suspect as a 21-year-old Woodstock male. They declared his arrest a few minutes later. The investigation is also being conducted by the FBI.
Surveillance footage of the suspect fleeing the scene of the Atlanta shootings assisted authorities in identifying him as the suspect in the Atlanta shootings and locating his car in Crisp County.

Long was described as a calm, religious man who enjoyed hunting and firearms.
He was apprehended about 150 miles south of Atlanta in Crisp County.
The gunman is thought to have driven more than 30 miles from Young’s massage parlor and attacked two other businesses in the Woodland Hills suburbs north of the city.
Despite Baker’s assertion that the motive for the shooting is uncertain, authorities from all three jurisdictions say they are “extremely certain” that the same perpetrator is responsible for all three incidents.

A former Sequoyah High classmate identified Long as a religious person. In 2017, the 21-year-old earned her diploma. Long’s father was a priest, according to the classmate, and he seemed “innocent” and “nerdy.”

The classmate told The Daily Beast, “He was very innocent-seeming and wouldn’t even cuss,”
“He was sorta nerdy and didn’t seem violent from what I remember. He was a hunter and his father was a youth minister or pastor. He was big into religion.”
Long and his family had a long history with the Crabapple First Baptist Church, as evidenced by social media posts from the church. A pastor at the church announced that he was a member and that the elders would issue a statement.

Long’s baptism testimony was used in a Facebook post that has since been removed. He said that he had been baptized for the second time.
He said, “As many of you may remember, when I was 8 years old I thought I was becoming a Christian, and got baptized during that time. And I remember a lot of the reason for that is a lot of my friends in my Sunday school class were doing that. And after that time, there wasn’t any fruit from the root that is our salvation,”
Earlier in the day, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office shared a picture of the suspect on Facebook.
Around 8:00 PM Crisp County Sheriffs Office received information from Sheriff Frank Reynolds that a wanted suspect was…
Long has identified as a suspect in all three shootings thanks to that picture and video videos from other businesses.
Two Asian women, one white woman, and a white man were killed in the first shooting, and three Asian women were killed at Gold Spa before an Asian woman was killed at Aromatherapy Spa.
Around 5 p.m., cops were dispatched to Young’s Asian Massage, which is located off Bells Ferry Road and Highway 92 in Acworth.
They discovered five people with gunshot wounds when they arrived on the scene, and three of them were taken to the hospital, where two of them died.
Meanwhile, police discovered three people dead at Gold Massage Spa on Piedmont Road about 5:50 p.m., and a fourth person at Aromatherapy Spa across the street, after responding to a robbery call.
All four victims were female, according to Atlanta Police Chief Rodney Bryant, and “it appears that they might be Asian.”
“It does appear that it’s the same suspect,” Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Captain Jay Baker told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
