After his wife and the pregnant manager of his dog rescue center were left stuck outside Kabul airport, a former Royal Marine named Paul ‘Pen’ Farthing has slammed ministers.
Boris Johnson would be ‘personally responsible’ if someone attacked his Norwegian partner Kaisa if she was reduced to walking the streets of Afghanistan, according to Paul Farthing.
Mr. Farthing, who deployed in Helmand Province in 2006, is holed up with 23 employees from his Nowzad stray animal charity about five miles distant.
He will not go until the government grants them everyone safe passage out of the country in the aftermath of the Taliban’s quick takeover.
He is 52 years old.
Kaisa Farthing is the wife of Paul Farthing.
After being denied admission to the airfield by British and US soldiers, his wife Kaisa Farthing is currently reported to be in a secure place with a pregnant colleague.
On Facebook, Farthing said: “If I hear on the radio or the TV one more time that the airport is secure, its not – absolutely not.”
He added, “And for them to try to be evacuated and have to be groped, pushed and crushed to get to the gate and then refused by the British soldiers and the American soldiers on the other side to open it – all those soldiers need to grow a pair.”
Why Did Paul Farthing Refuse To Leave Kabul?
Thousands of foreign nationals and Afghan allies are still being airlifted from Kabul, but UK military chiefs have stated that they can only stay on the ground as long as the Taliban allowed.
Thousands of people are rushing to evacuate Afghanistan before the Taliban seizes the airport.
Paul Farthing, a former Royal Marine Commando and the creator of the Nozad animal sanctuary, has been rescuing stray dogs, cats, and other animals for the past 15 years. Dominic Dyer, a well-known animal rights campaigner, said he recently spoke with Mr. Farthing after his wife attempted to flee through Kabul Airport.
According to TheSun.co.uk, he said, “The situation as it stands is that Pen has tried to get his wife and his office manager out of Kabul on a commercial flight, on the basis that the governments in Britain and America were saying the airport was more secure, but when he got there he found it wasn’t secure at all.
“They were crushed when they got the airport, it was very dangerous.
“He was very angry that UK military forces deployed on the other side of the fence did not actually step over the line to try and stop the situation, leaving civilians and foreign nationals trying to exit the country in a very dangerous position.
“I do think it raises serious concerns about what is going to happen unless those soldiers and armed forces are able to exit the airport security cordon to take more control of the surrounding areas – at the moment that’s just not happening.”
Please investigate if Ex British Commando Paul Farthing has Children under his home or compound in Kabul or other regions.
