Kaaba Door designer Muneer Al Jundi passed away on Saturday in Stuttgart, Germany. He constructed the Holy Kaaba door which, by order of King Khalid bin Abdul Aziz, was built in 1399 AH, (1978 AD).

In the factory of Sheikh Mahmood Bin Badar, a leading goldsmith in Makkah, the door was made.

It was finished in AH 1398 with 280kg of pure gold. To build the door, engineer Munir Al-Jundi from Syria was chosen.

In the factory of Sheikh Mahmud bin Badr, a great goldsmith in Makkah, this door was made. The kingdom’s founder, King Abdulaziz Al Saud, also entrusted the task of preparing the door for Baitullah to the Al Badr family.


In 1398 AH (1977), the door of Baitullah was installed and 280 kg of pure gold was used in it. In order to design the Baitullah door, the Saudi government wanted a Muslim figure because his name was to be written on the door.

As a builder, Engineer Al-Jundi also has the distinction of having his name engraved on Baitullah’s entrance.
