The actress who played Sky Mangel in the show as a kid died in her sleep, according to her bereaved relatives.

Miranda was cast as Sky, the on-screen daughter of Joe Mangel (Mark Little) and Kerry Bishop (Linda Hartley-Clark) when she was just 18 months old in 1989 for a three-year run.

Stephanie McIntosh played the character as a teenager when she was reintroduced in 2003.

Miranda had trained to be a nurse and was set to begin a postgraduate career in the neurology department at Monash Hospital in February after completing her degree.

How Did Miranda Fryer Die?

Miranda’s family confirmed her death on TV Tonight on January 6. Her cause of death is unknown, but her family claims she died of a heart problem.

Traci Hunter, her mother, told the Herald Sun, “She was the most wonderful daughter. She had so much love and passion for life.”

“She was a truly kind, loving person, almost too good to be true… Miranda was adored by everyone.”

“She just went to sleep and did not wake up. It is a terrible shock to us all.”
