Robert Michael Nesmith was an American musician, singer, actor, producer, novelist, businessman, and philanthropist best known as a member of the Monkees and co-star of the TV series The Monkees (1966–1988).

According to a family statement issued to Rolling Stone magazine, Nesmith died on December 10, 2021.

In a statement, his family stated, “With Infinite Love we announce that Michael Nesmith has passed away this morning in his home, surrounded by family, peacefully and of natural causes,”

“We ask that you respect our privacy at this time and we thank you for the love and light that all of you have shown him and us.”
