On Saturday night, his podcast co-host Michaela Okland confirmed the news on Twitter, saying that the Arizona-based content creator was killed in a hit-and-run.

Mat George Killed In Hit And Run (Cause Of Death)

According to a report from the Los Angeles Police Department, about 2:20 a.m. PST, a white BMW traveling westbound on Beverly Boulevard struck George, 26, who was walking southbound on Croft Avenue.

After striking George, the BMW failed to stop, and authorities have yet to identify the driver. George was later pronounced dead on the spot by paramedics.

After the news surfaced, co-host and close friend Michaela Okland shared and confirmed the news with her Twitter followers, and thousands of people expressed their sorrow.

Okland said, “Mat was killed in a hit and run last night,”

“I don’t really have any other words right now. I wish I could contact everybody who knows him personally but the news is already out and I just can’t do it right now.”

Mat George Was A Podcast Star

George was a beloved character online as co-host of the popular ‘She Rates Dogs’ podcast and an alumna of Arizona State University.
