Marie Harmon was an American actress who performed mainly during Hollywood’s Golden Era in the 1940s. She was born on October 21, 1923, in Los Angeles, California, U.S.
In the 1946 American Western film, The El Paso Kid, opposite Sunset Carson, she is best known for her lead role. In Los Angeles, Harmon died Monday of natural causes, said one of her daughters, actress Sondra Currie.

Harmon has been married 3 times. William G. Jones was her first husband. Their only child is Sondra Currie, an actress. In 1948, they divorced.
In 1951, she married Donald Currie. She left show business to open a clothing store for women. The couple had three children: Cherie Currie, their twin daughters, and Marie Currie, and Don Anthony Currie, their son. In 1972, Harmon got divorced.
Three years later, she married Wolfgang Kaupisch, who passed away at the age of 95 on June 9, 2010.
Career
Harmon, born in Chicago, moved to Hollywood at the age of 18 to become an actress, soon having small roles in vehicles like Hers to Hold, Hatcheck Honey, and Hi’Ya, Sailor, in World War II.
Harmon was signed to a contract with Republic Pictures and appeared opposite Robert Walker in The Sailor Takes a Wife in 1945 and Mickey Rooney in Killer McCoy in 1947.
Harmon was portrayed by Tatum O’Neal in the 2010 rock biopic, The Runaways, starring Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie and Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett.
Spotted while performing in a play in Beverly Hills by a Universal Pictures executive, she was offered a part in Hers to Carry (1943), starring Deanna Durbin and Joseph Cotten, and her career was off and running. In the 1950s, though, she gave up her acting to start a dress company.
Death Cause
She died of natural causes at the age of 97 on January 25, 2021, in Los Angeles.
