Ksenia Ovchinnikova Bio/Wiki
A Russian woman named Ksenia Ovchinnikova alleges she was persuaded to eat a juicy McDonald’s burger, which she now regrets.
Ksenia Ovchinnikova is suing the fast-food company, saying that she broke her Lent fast after seeing a tantalizing cheeseburger commercial.
Ovchinnikova said, “When I saw an advertising banner — I could not help myself,”
Her age is currently unknown.
Why Ksenia Ovchinnikova Sues McDonald?
The unfortunate lunch occurred in April 2019, while the Omsk resident was fasting for Lent, a severe season during which devout Christians are expected to abstain from eating meat, animal by-products, poultry, eggs, and dairy.
When Ovchinnikova noticed an alluring Golden Arches billboard offering a cheeseburger and chicken nuggets, she claims she had been following the belt-tightening tradition for a month.
Despite fasting for 16 years, the hungry woman couldn’t resist and “came to McDonald’s and bought a cheeseburger,” according to the penitent religious follower’s statement.
The cheat lunch, however, did not go over well with Ovchinnikova, who is reportedly suing McDonald’s for $14 as chomp-sensation for violating consumer protection laws and insulting her religious beliefs, according to the Daily Mail.
The angry worshipper fumed and said, “In the actions of McDonald’s, I see a violation of the consumer protection law,”
“I ask the court to investigate and, if a violation has taken place, to oblige McDonald’s LLC to compensate me for moral damage in the amount of one thousand rubles ($14).”
According to Russian news outlets, the court has yet to set a date for Ovchinnikova’s preliminary hearing.
