Wildlife authorities were not entertained by the clip and charged a misdemeanor against Farris.

Farris was forced to return to Sevier County in order to face repercussions, the Tennessee Wildlife Management Agency reported. Inmate and court records show that Farris, who lives in Danville, Virginia, has not yet turned herself in as of this writing.

Farris Fed the Watermelon & Chocolate Black Bear While Someone Else Filmed. On September 30, Farris posted a clip of herself feeding Tiktok with a black bear. The video alternates between footage taken from the point-of-view of Farris and footage captured on the deck from behind her. The video was still live on TikTok at the time of this writing.

In the captions of the video, Farris wrote, “I’m that crazy redneck girl ya mama always told you about😘. #tennessee #gatlinburg #onewithnature #babybear #ofans #BaseballSzn #differentroundhere”

According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Farris fed the animal watermelon, chocolate, and other human food straight from her side. In a news release that reported that Farris would face a misdemeanor violation, Sevier County Wildlife Sgt. David Sexton expressed bewilderment. “The overwhelming desire to have a close encounter with a black bear is strangely more powerful than common sense,” Sexton said. “Many people intentionally feed bears with little regard for the dire consequences to the bears and humans they leave behind.”

Farris, according to her TikTok and Facebook pages, is the mother of a toddler and has a boyfriend. Based on Farris’ recordings, it’s unclear if the entire family was in Gatlinburg or if she was visiting the state with other relatives.

For illegal Black Bear feeding, Farris Could Face 6 Months Behind Bars

“The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has agreed to prosecute Farris, which is a Class B misdemeanor, with” Illegal Black Bear Feeding. In a news release, the group clarified that the crime carries a maximum sentence of up to 6 months in prison and a fine of up to $ 500.

Residents and tourists are barred from feeding black bears in Sevier County or leaving food out “in a way that attracts bears.” This law also extends inside the city of Gatlinburg and, WVLT-TV reported, has been in effect since 2000.

On its website, the state agency states that regulations preventing people from feeding bears have been put in place to protect both animals and humans. Farris put the life of the black bear in danger as well as her own, based on the agency’s explanation:
