Sold Fake COVID-19 Vaccination Cards Full Details
Juli Mazi, a San Francisco-based registered homeopathic doctor, was arrested on July 14, 2021, for allegedly selling homeoprophylaxis immunization pellets.
According to the Department of Justice’s office in North Carolina, she reportedly gave out fake vaccination passports to make it look that her patients had US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved Moderna vaccine.
The case is the first federal criminal fraud prosecution involving homeoprophylaxis vaccines and forged CDC COVID-19 vaccination record cards. A tipster called the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General hotline in April 2021 to register a report about Mazi, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors claim Mazi took advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic to develop her pre-existing immunization scheme by selling vaccine pellets that she fraudulently claimed would provide “lifelong immunity to COVID-19” in written documents and consensually monitored recordings.
Mazi fraudulently told patients that the $243 pellets she was selling contained a “very small quantity” of COVID-19, which would result in “infections signs” of the coronavirus that would “automatically flag the immune system’s attention, producing immunity,” according to the complaint.
According to a press release issued by the prosecutors, “To encourage customers to purchase the pellets, Mazi allegedly exploited disinformation and fear by falsely claiming that the FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccines contain ‘toxic ingredients.’ Mazi further stated that her customers could provide the pellets to children for COVID-19 immunity and that the ‘dose is actually the same for babies.’”
Mazi is accused of giving her customers CDC COVID-19 immunization record cards and instructing them on how to falsify the information on the cards to make it look that they had received two doses of the Moderna vaccine.
Prosecutors said, “As part of her scheme, Mazi provided customers with specific Moderna vaccine lot numbers to enter onto the cards and with instruction on how to select the purported dates on which they had received the Moderna vaccines to evade suspicion,”
Mazi is still being held in detention following her arrest. It was also unclear when she would have to appear in court.
According to Alameda County Sheriff’s Office records, Mazi is being held at the Santa Rita Jail pending her initial appearance in federal court.
According to a news statement and criminal complaint from the US Attorney’s office, Mazi was charged in the US District of Northern California on July 14, 2021.
Prosecutors said in a statement, “The case is the first federal criminal fraud prosecution related to homeoprophylaxis immunizations and fraudulent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 vaccination record cards,”
After receiving a tip, federal authorities began looking into Mazi in April 2021. Prosecutors claimed a person reported in a complaint that members of their family had purchased COVID-19 immunization record cards from Mazi.
