Josh Boyd, who was killed when his motorcycle crashed with a lamppost, had balloons released in his honor on Saturday, ahead of his funeral this week.

Friendships with sad characters Josh Boyd held an emotional vigil over the weekend to honor the teen who died in a horrific road accident.

Tragic Josh Boyd, whose partner is expecting a baby boy in the coming weeks, was murdered on New Year’s Day after his motorcycle collided with a lamppost on the Sillogue Road in Ballymun, North Dublin.

Despite the fact that emergency services came quickly after the incident, Josh was pronounced dead a short time later.

While the blue balloons were being released, some friends hugged each other, and others came to the vigil on motorcycles to honor his love of motorcycles.

Several friends shared short videos of the balloon drop on social media, with one even posting about it, “A tribute for you Josh. Great turn out from everyone who knew and loved you. You’ll be so missed by everyone. Look over your family for the next week. It’s gonna be a tough one.”

Another person wrote, “RIP Josh Boyd. Forever young.”

Josh’s terrible death has left the entire Ballymun community very upset,’ according to local Fianna Fail Councillor Keith Connolly, “The community is very upset, the young man’s girlfriend was expecting a baby in a few weeks. He had his whole life ahead of him.”

Josh was looking forward to meeting his son and had posted on social media just days before his terrible death that he “couldn’t wait to meet my boy, not long now,  with a photo of him with his arm around his heavily pregnant partner.

Chloe Bollard, his distraught partner, posted on social media, “Praying for God to give her the strength to get through this.

“My beautiful angel. God give me strength to get through this for my kids.”

Meanwhile, Josh’s friends have been given a signed jersey by St Pat’s captain Ian Bermingham to raffle off to help raise funds for his funeral expenses.
