According to cops, a teen boy named Jose Eduardo Rosa found dead in his grandmother’s freezer died of asphyxiation after climbing in to cool off.
Jose Eduardo Rosa was discovered dead inside the freezer in his grandmother’s garden by a cousin, who claimed that he was “sitting in only his underpants.”
After the youngster was discovered dead inside the freezer in the west-central Brazilian city of Campo Grande, cops have ruled out foul play.
He was 15 years old.
After a comprehensive investigation, police officer Elaine Benicasa concluded that the teen’s death on January 11 was not caused by robbery, murder, or suicide.
Jose is thought to have gained access to his grandma’s house using a spare key she would keep concealed, and cops say he climbed into the freezer to cool off.
Found Dead Inside Freezer (Death Cause Details)
Carlos Magno Goncalves Rodrigues, 20, was horrified when he found him after he failed to turn up for work.
He told the local press: “It was already smelling bad. I opened the freezer and found him there sitting in just his underpants.” The cause of Jose’s tragic death has yet to be identified.
Officials claim the symptoms point to a sudden illness and asphyxiation, likely triggered by the use of anabolic steroids. High blood pressure runs in his family as well.
A number of chairs were reportedly found in a circle in the garden when he was discovered, meaning that the teen was not alone before his death, though cops have ruled out foul play.
According to investigators, a laptop computer and cell phone found on a table at the scene were set there so Jose could use them while he was inside his makeshift pool.
