Jordan Cox was an English rugby league footballer who last played for Doncaster. His main position was prop. He was born on 27 May, 1992.
He had also played for. the Hull Kingston Rovers, the Huddersfield Giants and the Warrington Wolves in the Super League. He’d also played outside of the Super League for Newcastle Thunder, Halifax and the Sheffield Eagles.
Jordan Cox Career
Cox made his first team debut at the 2011 Challenge Cup in York City Knights for the Hull Kingston Rovers on May 8, 2011. After making his debut in the Challenge Cup, he went on to make another six appearances in the Super League competition, earning himself a call to the England Knights team, which he had to pull out for post-season surgery later.
Cox played in 8 of the first 12 games at the start of the 2012 season, earning himself a regular spot in the Hull Kingston Rovers from 17 to early May. When his spleen ruptured during a game of the U20s causing him to miss the season for 3 months. While initially thought of as a season-end injury, he progressed quickly through the rest and recovery stages and made his return against the Bradford Bulls later on.
Cox has played on loan for Newcastle Thunder, Halifax and the Huddersfield Giants from 2013 to 2015. Once again in the Super League, after signing and making 18 appearances for the Warrington Wolves.
In January 2017 Cox signed a one-year contract with Sheffield Eagles Championship outfit. Cox has joined League 1 side York City Knights on loan until the end of the season after playing 9 games in 2017 for the Sheffield Eagles. He scored in a 28-18 home win over Workington Town on his debut for them. Cox got released by the Sheffield Eagles at the end of the season.
Jordan Cox Cause Of Death
Cox died on 30 April 2020 at his home in Hull no cause of death was made public but the circumstances were identified as “non-suspicious”
According to declaration issued on behalf of the Cox Family. The circumstances of his death are “believed to be non-suspicious and not related to the current public health situation”,
A Wolves statement read: “Everyone at the club is deeply saddened and shocked by the news that former player Jordan Cox has passed away at the age of 27.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Jordan’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”
Neil Hudgell, the chairman of Hull KR, described his death as “terrible shock”.
He said: “Jordan always seemed so fully of life and spirit and his loss is so sad. I’d like to express my sincere condolences to his mum, girlfriend and family at this awful time.”
It is heartbreaking to hear that Jordan Cox has passed away at the age of just 27.
