Following an uncomfortable appearance on the Commodores coach’s show Monday night, Vanderbilt play-by-play announcer Joe Fisher revealed he had resigned and entered a rehab facility.
The speech by Fisher was slurred and fragmented, and on ESPN 102.5 The Game, he repeated versions of the same question to interim football coach Todd Fitch.
After about 40 minutes, the weekly hour-long show was taken off the air. For 23 years, he was the voice of Vanderbilt athletics.
Joe Fisher Resigns Details (Entered Rehab Facility)
The weekly Vanderbilt coach show by Joe Fisher this week was already different, as it took place with Todd Fitch, the current interim football coach.
But evidently, the long-standing voice of the Commodores was not himself, to the extent that the show ended prematurely. Days later, to announce his resignation, Fisher took to Twitter:
