According to officials, a Spanish rider named Hugo Millán died after being struck by another rider during a motorbike race in Spain on Sunday.

Hugo Millán was run over on the second lap of the European Talent Cup race at the MotorLand Aragón Circuit after collapsing in the middle of the circuit.

Although a few riders were able to miss Millán as he attempted to get up and get out of the way at the exit of a corner, organizers claim that Oleg Pawelec, riding the No. 5 bikes, hit him head-on. Millan was a highly regarded rider, regarded as one of Spain’s brightest young riders.

He was second in the European Talent Cup standings at MotorLand Aragon, with 86 points, after four podiums and two pole positions this season.

Hugo Millán Died in European Talent Cup Race. Millán, who had begun second, remained still on the ground as other cyclists passed him. He had almost escaped crashing a couple of turns before losing control and falling while in second place.

He was then accidentally run over by another biker, prompting the red flag to be raised. Millan was treated for his injuries on the track before being transported to Zaragoza Hospital by helicopter. However, physicians were unable to save him, and he died tragically, leaving the sporting world in sadness.

Organizers FIM CEVRepsol said on Twitter, “We are deeply saddened to report that Hugo Millán succumbed to his injuries after a crash in the HETC race,”
