Natela Sepiashvili is the wife of Guram Dochanashvili.
Dochanashvili made his writing debut in 1961. He was immediately known for his dissident views and rejection of the Soviet literary dogmas of Socialist Realism. Since then, he’s written hundreds of stories and novellas that have earned widespread recognition for their fairy-tale lightness and inventiveness.
His most well-known work is The First Garment, a 1975 novel based on the Holy Bible and telling the story of the Canudos War in 19th-century Brazil.
Dochanashvili was admitted to the hospital on April 1, 2021. His condition was serious, and he passed away the next day. The cause of death is still unidentified.
