How Did Frank Varey Die? (Cause Of Death)
Frank was reported missing at 14:30 BST, and at 20:00 BST, Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said they had discovered a body. The river bank and Queen’s Park suspension bridge were closed while emergency crews searched the river near Lower Park Road.
According to a friend who was with him at the time, the adolescent was swimming to the opposite side of the river when he ran into trouble.
England Boxing announced the tragedy on Friday with a tribute to the bright young athlete. John Stubbs, England’s Talent Coach, stated, “Frank was a larger-than-life character. I’ve never met anyone that could lose a hotel key 27 times in the first two days of the trip, or anyone with the pre-bout ritual he had,”
He added, “No boy should lose their life at 16,”
He continued, “This is a sad day for the boxing community and my thoughts are with big Frank and the family.”
One of his heartbroken friends, who was at the river with the youngster boxer this morning, said, “RIP Frank, love you brother.
“Tried everything I could to save you. Heart’s in bits.”
