Shoot And Killed Twin Brother
According to the arrest affidavit, the incident occurred on October 18 as the brothers sat in a parked car together with a friend outside the twins’ home in Gulfport. In the center of the rear seat, Thomas sat while his brother, Matthias, sat in the passenger seat. According to the Gulfport Police, a friend of the brothers was seated in the driver’s seat of the Nissan Pathfinder.
At one point, police say, Mathias pulled out a hidden weapon and pointed it at Thomas, his brother, who in turn pulled out his own gun and pointed it back at him.
Thomas pulled the trigger and, police claim, Mathias was struck in the chest. According to a press release, he was “mortally wounded.”

As a security officer with a personal handgun at the time, Thomas was carrying a weapons belt leftover from a previous job, the release states. He was wearing it to show it off to others, according to the police.
In self-defense, detectives believe Thomas was not behaving. They claim he told them that at the time he was not afraid and did not believe that his brother would shoot him, but he said that he responded “automatically” on the basis of training and did not know why he did so. A second-degree felony, Thomas was charged with manslaughter, and taken to the Pinellas County Jail. At this time, his bond has not been set.
