Duke Webb is an active duty member of the U.S. Army who was identified in the mass shooting at Don Carter’s bowling alley in Rockford, Illinois by authorities as the gunman suspected.

Shortly after the shooting, Webb was taken into custody, Police Chief Dan O’Shea said at a Sunday morning news conference.
Attack At Rockford’s Don Carter Full Details
Police were called to the business, at 4007 E State Street, at 6:55 p.m., according to Rockford Police Chief Dan O’Shea. And arrived after the 911 call within 1 minute.

O’Shea said Webb had shot both inside and outside the building with his weapon. At the scene, two handguns were recovered, he said. Three people, including a 73-year-old man, a 65-year-old man, and a 69-year-old man, were killed. O’Shea reported that before notification of next of kin, the identities of the victims were withheld.

O’Shea said there were 3 people injured in the shooting. A 14-year-old male was shot in the face and airlifted for treatment to a Madison hospital. A 16-year-old female was shot in the shoulder and treated and released at a local hospital. According to O’Shea, the two teens were at the establishment to pick up food for carry-out.
A 62-year-old man has been shot many times and has undergone several operations, and is said to be in critical condition.

Police claim that when officers arrived, Webb was already in the bowling alley and the incident was caught on surveillance cameras. According to O’Shea, Webb supposedly tried to conceal his identity before his arrest. Webb is classified as involved with the U.S. military, authorities said.
