The Oregon Medical Board suspended an Oregon doctor’s license who said he refused to wear a mask at his clinic thus urging others not to wear masks as well.


In November, Dr. Steven LaTulippe told a pro-Trump rally that neither he nor his employees were wearing a mask while working at their clinic in Dallas, Ore. That violates a state order requiring health care staff in health care settings to wear a face covering.

The guidance from LaTulippe strongly opposed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendations. Citing numerous clinical studies, the medical agency has concluded that a mask will help prevent the transmission of the virus.


In Dallas, Oregon, LaTulippe runs a health clinic called South View Medical Arts. LaTulippe attended Boise State University and the University of Massachusetts before receiving his medical degree from Loma Linda University in California, according to his biography on the clinic’s website.

According to his Oregon Medical Board profile, LaTulippe graduated in May 1997 from Loma Linda. He then completed an internship at Wheeling Hospital in West Virginia and a residency program.
