According to a statement given by his wife Dottie Lamm, former Colorado Governor Dick Lamm has died.
Dick Lamm, the former governor of Colorado who led the state for three terms and championed an environmental awakening that led to voters rejecting the 1976 Winter Olympics, died on Thursday.
Richard Lamm was 85 years old and his wife Dottie Lamm is 84 years old.
The couple has 2 children together a son and daughter.

In Denver, she married Richard Lamm, a lawyer, and accountant in 1963.
Scuba diving, skiing, and mountain climbing are among her and her husband’s favorite activities. She has climbed 35 of Colorado’s fourteeners.
Lamm was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 1983 and had a mastectomy. She wrote in her daily column about her surgery and chemotherapy treatment, encouraging women to have mammograms, and received numerous messages of support.
From 1979 till 1996, Dottie wrote a column for The Denver Post on the same issues. Dottie ran for US Senator against Ben Nighthorse Campbell in 1997 but lost.
In 1985, she was elected to the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame.
Richard Lamm Cause Of Death
Lamm died in Denver on July 29, 2021, one week before his 86th birthday, from complications from a pulmonary embolism. Dottie Lamm, Dick Lamm’s wife, confirmed his death in a statement on Friday, July 30. According to accounts, Lamm died as a result of pulmonary embolism complications. The statement read, “With great sadness, but also gratitude for a life well lived and in service to his beloved Colorado, I want to share the news of the death of my husband, former Governor Richard D. Lamm.”
She added, “He would have turned 86 next Tuesday but passed away yesterday evening surrounded by his family, following complications from a pulmonary embolism earlier in the week.”
It is a disorder in which a blood clot blocks one or more arteries in the lungs. Dottie Lamm, Lamm’s wife, said her husband died surrounded by his family at Rose Medical Center in Denver.
