Allegedly Runs Over Daughter Full Details
When the 58-year-old mother of four got behind the wheel of the car after a party at their house, she was allegedly nearly three and a half times the legal limit.
After leaving her son’s 21st birthday bash, Palmer allegedly got behind the wheel of her car shortly after midnight on Sunday, April 2. She then allegedly slammed on the brakes after hitting her daughter Keely Palmer and dragging her underneath the car. The young woman was left screaming in pain after being struck, according to Amber Wardrop-Barros, who lives near the street where the party was held. “She was shouting, weeping, and yelling.
It was very startling she told the press, “You could just hear her screaming. People were saying, ‘Can someone get a jack’. So I thought maybe someone was stuck under a car.”
Another neighbor, Ryan, told the media that he heard music but no fighting at the house.
He awoke at 2.30 a.m. to see cops standing outside the front door. He said, “I always see the bloke out the front gardening and the kids always go out on the boat. The woman may have been dropping the kids off and then came back. They seem like a nice family,”
Her daughter is said to have attempted to stop her until her car collided with her. Palmer was arrested and taken to the Sutherland Police Station, where she allegedly gave a breath test reading of 0.166.
Balance and movement are affected at a concentration of 0.15. Blackouts, injuries, nausea, and passing out are also possible side effects. Her driver’s license has been revoked.
She was also charged with aggravated dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm (PCA or Prescribed Concentration of Alcohol) and high-range PCA, according to reports.
Palmer was given conditional bail, according to news sources, and will appear in Sutherland Local Court next Wednesday, May 12. Chief Inspector Gary Ford said, “It’s most certainly difficult circumstances for police to attend,”
“We’re hoping to get some information from anyone who may have been at that party throughout the night.”
