Cyril Kobus, a pillar of Johannesburg football and a seasoned administrator, has died.
After a brief illness, the former National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) and National Soccer League (NSL) officials died on Sunday morning.

He was 79 years old.
Kobus worked alongside the late NSL public relations officer Abdul Bhamjee as the previous general manager of the NSL, the progenitor of the current Premier Soccer League (PSL).
The NSL, which evolved from the NPSL, which was founded in 1970, created new marketing standards and capitalized on sponsorship and television broadcast rights.
