A veteran named Bob “Bobby” Rickett from Ohio died of Covid-19 days after attempting to get the coronavirus vaccine and being turned away twice because the facility was out of vaccines.
Bob “Bobby” Rickett was diagnosed with the virus on February 23, just days after he was turned away from a drive-thru vaccine facility because stocks had run out. The 74-year-old was one year short of Ohio’s 75-year eligibility requirement.

Susan, his wife, is now speaking out, encouraging her state and others to be more humane in their vaccine delivery.
His wife said, “Two times. Twice. He attempted to go to the drive-thru vaccine clinic in Georgetown, Ohio, here in Brown County where we live, Both times, he was turned away because they did run out of the vaccine.”
Bob was hospitalized for eight days after being diagnosed with Covid-19 and died after being transferred to hospice.
The US Army veteran continued to work until he became infected with the virus. His 75-year-old wife was given the vaccine.
She added, “I feel like if he had had the vaccine, he would be sitting out here next to me talking to you,”
She continued, “My husband, Bob, always wore his mask. Even if I had to yell at him about it. ‘You forgot your mask! Oh, I forgot!’ He grabbed it,”
She told to WLWT, “He was my everything. He was my rock, The kids miss him so much. My grandkids miss him so much and, yeah, I’m in pain right now.”
There were four daughters, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren for the Ricketts. Susan reports that she and her family are now dealing with Bob’s death.
