She is a French banker and has been President of the Edmond de Rothschild Group Board of Directors since April 2019. She is the first woman ever to manage a financial institution branded by Rothschild.
Benjamin de Rothschild bought the 62-foot-long Elf Aquitaine in 2000 and created the Gitana Team professional sailing team, continuing in the footsteps of the family tradition, but eventually extending it to multihull sailboats.
The Gitana IX (former Elf Aquitaine) was the team’s first trimaran, followed by the Gitana X, fully built by the team. Gitana VII won the 2006 Route du Rhum.
The team agreed in 2014 to build a modern, state-of-the-art yacht. In 2015, the team installed foiling daggerboards and T-rudders to make it ‘fly’ over water on a Multi One Design 70ft.
The 32×23-meter Maxi Edmond de Rothschild, the first maxi-multihull for offshore racing built to fly in the open ocean, was launched on 17 July 2017.
