In a tragic series of events during Manhattan, Tessa Majors was a promising student at Barnard College who was killed by knife-wielding. While she was hurt, she managed to make it to the safety booth of the class, but it was empty.
Tessa Majors, BC ‘ 23, died on Wednesday night after a stabbing at West 116th Street and Morningside Drive in Morningside Park, Barnard President Sian Beilock revealed later that night in an email to the family. She was eighteen.

Police say “a group of suspects surrounded Majors and requested their estate before stabbing her multiple times,” according to the Columbia Spectator. A security guard made the 911 call at 5:36 p.m.
On December 11, 2019 after Majors was “unconscious with multiple stab wounds.” ABC7 reporter CeFaan Kim wrote on Twitter, “18-year-old Barnard College student found stabbed to death was robbed by gang of suspects. She managed to climb wounded stairs from Morningside Park, collapsed in front of the safety booth of the school, empty as rounds made by the guard. Thirty minutes later. It’s too late.

Police Are Investigating a Suspect in a Green Jacket.
ABC7 reported finding Tessa’s empty phone on a curb, and finding a woman’s hat and a “locked gravity knife” in the park. A perpetrator was confirmed to wear a green jacket, and police found a similarly dressed robbery suspect earlier in the day, reported by ABC7, and noticed a blood trail at a hanging spot.
Whether that perpetrator was linked to the killing of Majors is still being investigated.
