He was 51 years old.
Madel Regino was married to Madel Regino. As a singer and musician, his son, JC, followed in his footsteps.
Regino’s death comes six years after he retired after a battle with prostate cancer from show business. In 2009, Regino was first diagnosed with the illness. Regino said in 2015 that after a diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy, he had become blind in his left eye.
Regino sold 120,000 units of his album The Heart Is Crying in 1996 in his homeland, going triple platinum, according to Billboard Magazine.

The same article reported that in his homeland, Regino had come under criticism and was derogatorily referred to as “baduy,” a Filipino term meaning “tacky.”
In January 2014, Regino held his last interview. He was quoted by ABS-CBN as saying that after being given the all-clear about his diagnosis of prostate cancer, his doctor advised him to rest. He will miss playing for his fans, Regino said but his health was his priority.
In 2015, Regino released a new album, despite his apparent retirement.
According to a Facebook post from his younger brother, Vingo, and Jimmy, Regino died on the morning of 29 November 2020. He wrote, “This day is so sad.. my brother april boy is no more… vingo regino”

2020 is not just taking people away from us. More than anything, it is trying to take away solid memories of our growing up years away from us.
Di ko kayang tanggapin. Sino pa kaya ang aalis? Ano pa kaya ang darating?
