Annemiek van Vleuten Takes Gold At Tokyo Olympics

She was one of four Dutch cyclists racing in the 137 km-long women’s road race in Tokyo, Japan, in July 2021, and she earned the silver medal, finishing 75 seconds behind Austria’s Anna Kiesenhofer.

Van Vleuten wrecked with about 60 kilometers to go in the race, but he was able to rejoin it. With 2.1 kilometers to go, her attack put her in second place.
