The boy’s ordeal started after he snuck out of his house around midnight Friday night to hang out with friends, according to Detective Adalberto Fuentes of the department’s Special Victims Bureau.
The boy walked three miles to a friend’s house and spent some time there. The boy was returning home around 2:30 a.m. Saturday when he was approached by a Hispanic man with long curly hair in the Brownsville neighborhood.
The car involved in the incident was discovered with a pistol inside, according to investigators.
The child, meanwhile, is still in the hospital, according to sources.
Fuentes said, “In an attempt to conceal the fact that he was not home, he placed pillows and a blanket to show as if someone was sleeping there,”
