Prosecutor Tanner Stellmon told the judge that Williams admitted to being abusive towards the kid, admitting to the boy’s “losing his cool or losing his patience”
Stellmon said that the two-year-old died from “traumatic injury,” but the Ada County coroner has not yet reported the precise cause of death and the identity of the toddler.
Stellmon said, “This trauma was extensive, and there were bruises about the child’s body,”
He said that medical staff found that the little boy had broken ribs, a “severed liver” and other internal injuries, as well as symptoms of a head injury. Stellmon said, “This child was beaten to death essentially, or abused to the point that his body could no longer take it,”
After the 2-years-old was rushed unconscious and not breathing to a local health facility at 3:45 p.m Monday, Williams was arrested.
The boy was rushed to St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital from the clinic but died due to his injuries.
According to KTVB, officials later determined that the child had sustained internal injuries, a head injury, and rib fractures.
Investigators said Williams was watching the child when the child was hurt at a home on East 44th Street, the news outlets reported.
Williams told authorities that, KTVB reported, he had grown irritated with the kid and behaved aggressively towards him.
According to KTVB, Williams remains jailed without bail.
